About Me

Picture of Sandy
Hi! My name is Sandy.

My first encounters with coding started in 2010 when I wanted to personalize my posts in online forums using HTML and CSS. This was also when I first started dabbling in digital design, as I wanted to embellish the post with my own custom embedded pictures. My interest in customizing my own profiles and generating designs spanned across all the websites I went on, including Neopets and Tumblr.

Needless to say, I have extensive experience in both programming and design. In high school, I had my designs published in t-shirts and took the newly offered computer science course. For college, I graduated with a Bachelors' in Computer Science and I've curated many graphics for various non-profit organizations and large-scale events. Currently I'm looking for new opportunities to kick start my career! Please don't hesitate to contact me here if you're interested.

Terminalgram

Made with: Hadoop DFS, PostgreSQL, Java

The project is an Instagram-esque application with a terminal-style menu to navigate the app. The system allows users to add a post, follow other users, view other posts from people they follow and view a feed of the top photos based on the people they follow. Searches can be made to view users based on their username and tags. Users can also search photos based on tags and users. There is also an option to list the most popular photos and users in the application.

Pet Simulator

Made with: Arduino UNO R3, C for ATmega1284

Pet Simulator is an interactive game where the main goal is to take care of a virtual pet, taking inspirations from Bandai's Tamagotchi of the late 1990s. In this game, players can feed, play, and wash their friend in order to maintain its time-decrementing health bar. If the player is feeling particularly malicious, there is also an option to kick the pet, which decreases the health bar.

guideme

Made with: Google App Engine, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, Yelp API
